About Ally

Alasdair is a professional session musician and tutor working and living in London (UK). While experienced and working across many genres, Alasdair specialises in Pop, Funk, and Rock music as well as performing with artists from many different backgrounds and styles.

Born in 1992 and raised in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, Alasdair took an interest in music as a child of 8, joining his older brother and sister in Music lessons. Learning and playing everything he could get his hands on, Alasdair began specialising in bass guitar studies after being encouraged to play in his local Church Praise Band as a young teen. Taking early influences from Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Flea and many others, Alasdair honed his skills into the accomplished musician he is today.

Since graduating from Edinburgh Napier University in with an Honours Degree in Music Performance in 2014, Alasdair moved south of the border to London where he continues to live and work. Alasdair has developed a vast portfolio, including touring and recording with a wealth of International acts such as Sarah Darling, Jenn Bostic, April Jai, Cherry Suede, Stewart Mac and many others. As well as gigging regularly in London and across the UK, Alasdair’s session work has taken him across the world, touring many countries in Asia, Europe as well as Australia.
